Using a Google Map Places API, a Python notebook, and Plotly Chart Studio, we have mapped the EV chargers presently available in Hong Kong.

Here, we have shown the changes in EV infrastructure in Hong Kong between January 2021 to June 2022.

The graph shows increase in the chargers between 2021-2022.

We have also put together one more graph that is easy to read and understand.

Now, how the codes work means that it becomes possible that smaller amounts of chargers weren’t captured during January 2021, therefore, we will keep these numbers present like rough estimations.

According to given datasets, Hong Kong saw an increase of ~30% in accessible public EV chargers between 2021-2022.

And around a quarter of new chargers were quick or super chargers.

These new chargers are evenly spread across Hong Kong and have a tendency to getting located near the larger roads.
