Spec's Aisle-Level Pricing, Dose & Inventory Dataset
Spec's is Texas's largest independent wine, beer and spirits chain, and this file captures its catalogue with the store attached — 24 columns covering price, list price, stock flag, unit inventory, pack format, address and coordinates.
The sample is a complete aisle: all 50 products from one Austin store's infused-seltzer shelf, 1,125 units counted, prices from $2.62 to $62.99 and dose written into the product name — 5mg, 10mg, 100mg, 170mg.
The file already exists, because this pipeline runs every day whether you buy it or not. Most vendors start collecting after you order — which is why they quote a lead time. Here the most recent file is in your account within minutes of payment, with an API key issued at the same time.
What you get, in plain terms
Four things. A whole shelf, priced and counted.
Unit counts, not just a flag
INVENTORY gives the number of units the store shows as available, alongside the INSTOCK flag — depth of stock, which almost no retail feed publishes.
Dose and format in the name
Product names carry the strength and the pack — “10mg Delta 9 4pk Can”, “5mg Delta 9 Mini” — so dose-per-dollar can be worked out for every line on the shelf.
Store-level, with coordinates
Every row carries STORE_ID, STORE_ADDRESS, ZIPCODE, LATITUDE and LONGITUDE, so availability maps straight onto a trade area rather than a national average.
However you want it
Direct download, REST API, Amazon S3, Google Cloud, Snowflake or SFTP. The API key comes with the dataset.
Fields included in this dataset
All 24 columns, in the exact order they appear in the file — taken straight from the sample, not from a brochure. The free sample ships with a data dictionary giving an example value for each one.
Sample rows from the real file
Real rows from the sample file, not an illustration. The supplied sample has 50 store rows with all 24 columns.
Coverage
Captured every day across specsonline.com. One row is one product at one store, timestamped in SCRAPED_AT.
| Metric | In the supplied sample | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Rows | 50, all distinct products | One complete shelf |
| Unit inventory | 0 – 73 units, 1,125 in total | Median 18 units |
| In stock | 44 of 50 | Six lines at zero |
| Price range | $2.62 – $62.99 | Median $10.52 |
| Discounted | 5 of 50 | Deepest 25% off |
| Formats | 4-pack 23 · 50ml 7 · 2oz 7 · 750ml 6 | Singles, packs and bottles |

Historical data
The last 30 days come with the dataset. Beyond that we hold Spec's records from February 2025 onwards.

We can extend this dataset beyond the standard 24 columns — dose in milligrams and a price-per-milligram field are the most requested additions.

What people use this dataset for
Beverage brands and distributors
See which stores carry your SKUs, at what shelf price and with how many units left.
Category and trade marketing
Track distribution gaps store by store instead of guessing from national sell-in data.
Competitor and pricing teams
Compare dose, pack size and price against every competing line on the same shelf.
Retail analysts and investors
Follow how fast a new category builds distribution across a chain's estate.
About Spec's catalogue data
Spec's runs large wine, beer and spirits stores across Texas and sells online from the same inventory. For brands entering Texas, it is the account that decides whether a line gets statewide presence.
A shelf, not a sample of one
All 50 sampled rows came from one store's infused-seltzer aisle — every line, with its price and its unit count. That completeness is what makes share-of-shelf and price-ladder analysis possible rather than approximate.
Dose is the comparison
Strength sits in the product name — 5mg, 10mg, 100mg, 170mg — alongside the pack format. Combined with price, that gives cost per milligram, which is how this category is genuinely compared.
Two things to plan for
DESCRIPTION is filled on 14 of 50 rows, since not every listing carries copy; the six zero-inventory rows are flagged INSTOCK False. The sampled store is a single Austin location, so ask for the full estate if you need statewide coverage.
Is collecting this data legal?
We collect only what a shopper sees on a public store page — product name, size, price, availability and the store it belongs to. No account is created, no age gate is circumvented and no personal data is touched, so the file carries no consumer records at all. These are age-restricted and, in the hemp-derived categories, state-regulated products: the data describes what retailers list, and what you may do with it depends on your own market's rules. Product names, brands and descriptions stay the property of their owners; the licence covers the compiled dataset.
