Web Scraping Services in the UK

Managed collection for UK teams, with UK GDPR handling and loyalty pricing captured properly.

Actowiz Solutions provides managed web scraping services to UK businesses across grocery and retail, property, telecom, financial services, public procurement and recruitment sources. Engagements are scoped under UK GDPR with a written methodology document and DPA, and delivered on UK business hours.

The UK is the market where loyalty-gated grocery pricing became the real price, where property portals publish unusually rich data, and where in-contract telecom price rises are both published and politically live. Each of those changes what a competent dataset has to capture.

Free pilot on your own sources, returned in 24 hours. No card, no trial clock — and you keep the sample data either way.

Where we are

Actowiz Solutions operates from two offices: Albany, New York and our development hub in Ahmedabad, India. We do not have a UK entity, and we will not imply one.

GBP invoicing is available, contracting includes a UK GDPR-aligned DPA, and Ahmedabad working hours overlap the UK day substantially. Sales: +91 88666 56657.

If your procurement requires a UK-established supplier as a hard condition, that is legitimate and we would rather flag it now than at contract stage.

Most requested services in United Kingdom

Ranked by how often United Kingdom clients ask for them, with the market reason behind each.

  1. Grocery data scraping →

The most advanced loyalty-gated pricing market in the world. Shelf-price-only monitoring is not incomplete here, it is misleading.

  2. Real estate data scraping →

Two dominant portals publishing rich attributes and price history, which makes listing lifecycle tracking unusually reliable.

  3. Telecom data scraping →

In-contract price rise mechanisms are published and under regulatory scrutiny, so capturing the mechanism matters more than the current price.

  4. Government tender data →

Find a Tender, Contracts Finder and devolved portals with strong award transparency, which supports genuine incumbent detection.

These are the most common starting points, not a limit. All services are available in United Kingdom.

Why UK grocery data is worthless without loyalty pricing

UK grocery pricing underwent a structural change that many datasets have not caught up with. Major grocers now operate two-tier pricing: a displayed shelf price and a materially lower loyalty member price, with membership penetration high enough that the member price is the modal transaction price.

Why this inverts conclusions rather than blurring them

  • Index direction flips. A retailer 4% above market on shelf price can be 3% below on member price. Those are opposite strategic pictures from identical underlying data.
  • Promotional intensity is undercounted. Loyalty pricing is promotion by another name. Excluding it makes an aggressive competitor look passive.
  • Elasticity models break. A model trained on shelf prices is fitted against a price most volume did not transact at.

We capture both tiers as separate fields with a computed effective price. Where a retailer shows member pricing only behind a login, we do not access it — the field arrives null with a reason code rather than substituting shelf price, because that single silent substitution is what produces the inverted conclusion. Full detail in grocery data scraping.

UK GDPR, legitimate interests, and what actually gets a DPO's approval

UK engagements go through data protection review more consistently than most markets, and the review asks better questions. In our experience three things determine whether it clears.

  • A documented lawful basis per field. Not a general claim of legitimate interests, but which fields involve personal data, why legitimate interests applies to each, and what balancing test was applied.
  • Evidence of what is excluded. DPOs are more reassured by a specific exclusion list than by a compliance assertion. Ours states plainly: no personal emails, no personal mobiles, no login-gated professional network data, no patient data, no reviewer profiles.
  • A workable rights process. Suppression list handling and deletion request routing, documented, so the obligation is operable rather than theoretical.

All three appear in the written methodology document and the DPA, provided before signature rather than after. For B2B data specifically, our approach is registry-anchored rather than list-purchased — see lead and contact data, which includes the list of fields we refuse to supply.

The 24-hour sample — run on your sources, not ours

Before you commit to anything, we run collection against your own United Kingdom sources and send you the output. If the coverage is not there, the sample shows you that too — which is the point of running it first.

  • Real extraction from your actual sources
  • Returned inside two business days
  • Coverage and QA note included
  • You keep the data either way
  • No card, no trial clock
  • Named engineer on the call

How we engage

Three ways to engage us

Same collection pipeline and QA underneath. The difference is who holds the schedule and how the data reaches you.

Managed service (most common)

We own the collection, the QA and the delivery. You receive clean data on a schedule and never touch a scraper.

  • Dedicated engineer assigned to your account
  • Site changes fixed by us, not reported to you
  • Scheduled delivery to your warehouse or S3
  • Named contact on Slack or email

Best fit: Teams who need the data, not the infrastructure.

API access

The same collection pipeline exposed as an authenticated REST endpoint your systems query directly.

  • On-demand and scheduled endpoints
  • Rate limits agreed to your load profile
  • Sandbox keys for integration testing
  • Versioned schema with deprecation notice

Best fit: Product and engineering teams building on live data.

One-time or project extraction

A defined pull for a specific question — market sizing, diligence, a pitch, a one-off audit.

  • Fixed scope agreed in writing upfront
  • Single delivery with full QA report
  • Methodology documented for your records
  • Converts to managed if you want continuity

Best fit: Research, strategy and diligence work with a deadline.

Pricing

Every engagement is quoted individually, because the honest answer depends on your scope: how many sources, how many records, how often, and how the data reaches you. We scope it with you, run a free pilot on your own sources, and then quote a fixed monthly figure — no per-request metering and no overage billing when volumes move. Request a quote and you will have a number after one call.

Service commitments are identical in every market

Pilot within 24 hours, production live in 5–10 business days, 99.5% on-schedule delivery measured monthly, source breakage triaged the same business day, schema validation plus sampled human QA on every run, a named engineer rather than a ticket queue, and full historical export on request with no exit fee. These are contractual and appear in the engagement document.

FAQ

Web scraping in United Kingdom: frequently asked questions

Including the questions about where we are based and how compliance is handled.

No UK entity. Actowiz Solutions has offices in Albany, New York and Ahmedabad, India, and we will not claim a UK presence we do not have. GBP invoicing is available, contracting includes a UK GDPR-aligned DPA, and working hours substantially overlap with the UK day.

If your procurement requires a UK-established supplier as a hard condition, we are not the right vendor and would rather say so now than at contract stage.

By scoping what personal data is involved — usually very little, given our exclusions — documenting the lawful basis per field, and providing a DPA plus a written methodology document before signature.

Our exclusions do most of the work: no personal email addresses or mobiles, no login-gated professional network data, no patient data, no reviewer profiles. Where B2B contact data is in scope, it is registry-anchored with a documented basis and a workable deletion process rather than a purchased list nobody can account for.

Publicly displayed loyalty prices, yes — and they are the most important field in UK grocery data. Both tiers are captured as separate fields with a computed effective price.

Where a retailer shows member pricing only after login, we do not access it. The field arrives null with a reason code and we never substitute shelf price, because that substitution can flip a competitive index from above-market to below-market. We confirm per retailer during scoping which expose member pricing publicly.

Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Waitrose, Ocado and Co-op; Argos, Currys, John Lewis, Boots and ASOS; Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket; Autotrader and Motors; EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and the MVNOs; Find a Tender and Contracts Finder; Companies House and FCA registers; Indeed, Reed, Totaljobs and ATS career pages.

Coverage is built to your list. New sources are usually live within the same 5–10 business day window.

Yes, and UK portals are among the best in the world for this. Rich published attributes plus portal price history make listing lifecycle tracking unusually reliable — reduction counts, relist-linked days on market and status transitions.

One honest limit: a listing disappearing does not prove a sale. We report disappeared_unconfirmed where the portal publishes no status transition rather than asserting a sale, because inflating absorption metrics is the easy way to make property data misleading.

We capture the in-contract price rise mechanism as a structured object — rise type, index used, additional fixed percentage and the month applied — rather than only the current monthly price.

This matters for competitive and regulatory work alike: two plans at identical monthly prices with different mechanisms cost materially different amounts by month twenty-four, and some operators now market the absence of rises as a differentiator, which is only measurable if the mechanism is captured.
