TRT is two and a half hours behind Ahmedabad, so our afternoon is your late morning and issues raised at the start of your day get worked the same day. Contracts and documentation are in English. Turkish-language contracting is outside what we offer, and if a local entity is required for your procurement or for cross-border transfer reasons, that is worth establishing before scoping.

KVKK, and why our exclusions predate it

Turkey's personal data protection law predates GDPR and shares much of its structure, with its own supervisory authority and its own rules on cross-border transfer that are worth your counsel's attention if personal data is in scope.

For our engagements it usually is not. We do not collect or resell personal data — no TC identity numbers, no personal identifiers, no reviewer names or profiles or histories. That is our position in every market rather than a response to this one.

What that means in scope

Product, price and availability data from public pages sits outside the personal data question.
Seller identity is captured as a business characteristic where displayed.
B2B contact data only where a lawful basis exists for your intended use.
Cross-border transfer is worth raising early if any personal data is in scope, since Turkish rules here are specific.

We provide a written methodology document and a DPA before signature. We will not certify an engagement as KVKK-compliant, because compliance depends on your purpose and basis, not only on how the data was collected.

Why the exchange rate belongs on the observation

Cross-market price comparison always requires the rate to be recorded. Most markets tolerate a daily rate. Turkey does not reliably.

What goes wrong with a daily rate

A price collected in the morning converted at an end-of-day rate produces a figure that never existed.
The error is directional during a sustained move, so it does not average out across a category.
Comparing to another market's price converted at a different moment compounds two errors.
Historical series drift when one daily rate is applied to observations taken at varying times.

We store the price in TRY exactly as displayed and record the rate, its timestamp and its source at the moment of each observation. Conversion stays derived rather than baked in, so you can recompute against any rate or convention.

Local currency remains authoritative on every record. Any vendor delivering a single converted figure for this market without the rate and its timestamp is asking you to trust arithmetic you cannot reconstruct.

Instalment purchase is the second requirement. It is deeply embedded in Turkish retail and displayed prominently, and the monthly figure is frequently what shoppers compare. We capture count, amount and interest-free status separately and do not compute an effective price from them, because whether terms matter depends on whether your buyer is price-sensitive or cash-flow-sensitive.
