Web Scraping Services in Germany

Managed collection for German teams, with GDPR and BDSG handling and mandated data sources used properly.

Actowiz Solutions provides managed web scraping services to businesses in Germany across retail and electronics, fuel and energy, logistics, public procurement and recruitment sources. Engagements are scoped under GDPR and the BDSG, with mandated public feeds such as MTS-K used as primary sources where they exist.

Germany is unusual in two ways that matter operationally: fuel prices are published under a statutory reporting scheme, and consumer electronics retail carries more retailer-exclusive model numbering than anywhere else in Europe. Both change how collection should be designed.

Free pilot on your own sources, returned in 24 hours. No card, no trial clock — and you keep the sample data either way.

Where we are

Actowiz Solutions operates from Albany, New York and our development hub in Ahmedabad, India. We do not have a German entity, and we will not claim one.

EUR invoicing is available and contracting includes a GDPR-aligned data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag), with a written methodology document before signature.

If your procurement requires an EU-established processor as a hard condition, we would rather identify the mismatch in the first conversation.

Most requested services in Germany

Ranked by how often Germany clients ask for them, with the market reason behind each.

  1. Consumer electronics data →

More retailer-exclusive model numbering than any other European market, which makes variant resolution the primary reason clients buy here.

  2. Fuel & energy data →

MTS-K provides mandated real-time fuel price reporting, the richest public fuel data available anywhere, which we use as primary and validate against site-level collection.

  3. Grocery data scraping →

Hard discounter pressure and deep own-label ranges make private label indexing against branded equivalents the central analysis.

  4. Logistics & freight data →

A major European logistics hub with dense published road and parcel tariffs, and surcharge circulars that change monthly.

These are the most common starting points, not a limit. All services are available in Germany.

Using MTS-K properly, and why we still validate against the forecourt

Germany operates a statutory fuel price reporting scheme, which makes it one of the few markets where authoritative real-time pricing is genuinely public. Using it correctly is not simply a matter of ingesting the feed.

How we treat it

  • Official feed as primary. It is mandated and authoritative, so it is the base record rather than one source among several.
  • Site-level collection as validation. We also observe displayed forecourt pricing and flag discrepancies, because official feeds occasionally lag actual changes.
  • Discrepancy flags delivered. Knowing when the official figure and the displayed figure diverge is useful for anyone making same-day pricing decisions.
  • Geocoding and catchment on top. The feed gives prices; it does not give competitive position. We compute position against a configurable-radius average per site, which is what pricing decisions actually need.

The same principle applies to EV charging in Germany: we measure charge-point uptime from our own repeated observations rather than accepting operator-published figures, because operator uptime definitions differ on partial availability and maintenance. Detail in fuel and energy data.

Why electronics variant resolution matters more in Germany than elsewhere

German electronics retail carries an unusually high incidence of retailer-exclusive model numbers — the same product issued under a distinct number to a single retailer, sometimes with a trivial specification difference and sometimes with none.

What happens if a dataset merges them

  • False undercutting. The exclusive is priced lower and appears to breach positioning. Channel teams escalate, the retailer points out it is a different SKU, and the effort is wasted.
  • Corrupted category indices. An index blending exclusives with non-exclusives reports gaps that do not exist commercially.
  • Distorted decay curves. Exclusives launch and clear on different schedules, so blending produces a curve describing neither.

We parse model numbers into base plus suffix, classify variant type, and flag exclusives rather than merging them. They are linked to the base model as a relationship, so you can include them when assessing a retailer's overall price position and exclude them when checking positioning breaches. Both are legitimate questions, and only unmerged data answers both. See consumer electronics data.

The 24-hour sample — run on your sources, not ours

Before you commit to anything, we run collection against your own Germany sources and send you the output. If the coverage is not there, the sample shows you that too — which is the point of running it first.

  • Real extraction from your actual sources
  • Returned inside two business days
  • Coverage and QA note included
  • You keep the data either way
  • No card, no trial clock
  • Named engineer on the call

How we engage

Three ways to engage us

Same collection pipeline and QA underneath. The difference is who holds the schedule and how the data reaches you.

Managed service (most common)

We own the collection, the QA and the delivery. You receive clean data on a schedule and never touch a scraper.

  • Dedicated engineer assigned to your account
  • Site changes fixed by us, not reported to you
  • Scheduled delivery to your warehouse or S3
  • Named contact on Slack or email

Best fit: Teams who need the data, not the infrastructure.

API access

The same collection pipeline exposed as an authenticated REST endpoint your systems query directly.

  • On-demand and scheduled endpoints
  • Rate limits agreed to your load profile
  • Sandbox keys for integration testing
  • Versioned schema with deprecation notice

Best fit: Product and engineering teams building on live data.

One-time or project extraction

A defined pull for a specific question — market sizing, diligence, a pitch, a one-off audit.

  • Fixed scope agreed in writing upfront
  • Single delivery with full QA report
  • Methodology documented for your records
  • Converts to managed if you want continuity

Best fit: Research, strategy and diligence work with a deadline.

Pricing

Every engagement is quoted individually, because the honest answer depends on your scope: how many sources, how many records, how often, and how the data reaches you. We scope it with you, run a free pilot on your own sources, and then quote a fixed monthly figure — no per-request metering and no overage billing when volumes move. Request a quote and you will have a number after one call.

Service commitments are identical in every market

Pilot within 24 hours, production live in 5–10 business days, 99.5% on-schedule delivery measured monthly, source breakage triaged the same business day, schema validation plus sampled human QA on every run, a named engineer rather than a ticket queue, and full historical export on request with no exit fee. These are contractual and appear in the engagement document.

FAQ

Web scraping in Germany: frequently asked questions

Including the questions about where we are based and how compliance is handled.

No German entity. Actowiz Solutions has offices in Albany, New York and Ahmedabad, India. EUR invoicing is available and contracting includes a GDPR-aligned data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag), with a written methodology document provided before signature.

If your procurement requires an EU-established processor as a hard condition, that is a legitimate requirement and we would rather flag the mismatch now than at contract stage.

By scoping which fields involve personal data at all — usually very few, given our exclusions — documenting lawful basis per field with the balancing test applied, and providing an AVV plus written methodology before signature.

German data protection review is typically the most thorough we encounter, which we regard as a feature. Reviewers respond better to a specific exclusion list than to a compliance claim, and ours is specific: no personal emails or mobiles, no login-gated professional network data, no patient data, no reviewer profiles.

Yes, as the primary source, because it is mandated and authoritative. We also run site-level collection as validation and flag discrepancies where the official figure and the displayed forecourt price diverge.

What the feed does not provide is competitive position. We geocode every site and compute position against a configurable-radius average, which is the field pricing teams actually build decisions on.

MediaMarkt, Saturn, Euronics and Expert; Rewe, Edeka, Kaufland, Lidl and Aldi; Otto and Zalando; Mobile.de and AutoScout24; Immobilienscout24 and Immowelt; DocMorris and Shop Apotheke; the Vergabe procurement portals; StepStone, Xing Jobs and ATS career pages; plus MTS-K and German fuel retail.

Coverage is built to your list rather than from a fixed catalogue.

Collection handles German-language sources natively, and content is retained in the original language with translation available for filtering and triage rather than as a replacement.

Account communication and documentation are in English. If German-language contracting and account management are a requirement, that is worth raising on the scoping call — we would rather establish it upfront than have it become friction later.

Aldi and Lidl publish less online than full-service grocers in some categories, so coverage differs by retailer and we state it per retailer during scoping rather than implying uniform depth.

Where discounter data is available, own-label identification and indexing against branded equivalents is the central analysis in this market — discounter own-label competition is the defining dynamic in German grocery, and it is measurable through unit-normalised price indexing.
