Client Overview

The client needed the complete Spain section of a vacation-rental portal captured in structured form — roughly 668 pages of listings — to populate a WordPress site. For every property they required the full detail, not just what appears on preview cards: title, complete description, all photos, price, capacity and layout, location, amenities, property type, and any other details shown on the listing page.

Two things mattered beyond the data itself. The photos had to be downloaded and organised per listing for use in WordPress, and the client wanted an Octoparse task file so they could re-run the extraction themselves in future without starting from scratch.

The Challenge

Detail-page depth, not previews. Preview cards omit most fields, so the scraper had to open every individual listing page to capture the full description, complete photo set, and all property attributes.
Full-section coverage. The Spain section spans ~668 listing pages; complete, reliable pagination was required so no listing was skipped.
Photo download & organisation. Every listing's images had to be downloaded (not just linked) and organised per listing so they map cleanly to their property in WordPress.
Variable attribute sets. Listings differ in which details they show (floors, amenities, property type), so the schema had to absorb missing fields cleanly.
WordPress-ready structure. The export had to be structured for direct WordPress import, with fields and images mapped predictably.
Reusable for re-runs. The client wanted an Octoparse task file to repeat the extraction independently as listings change over time.

Approach

Full pagination traversal. The workflow walks all ~668 Spain pages and collects every listing URL before extraction, ensuring complete coverage.
Detail-page extraction. Each listing page is opened individually to capture the full field set — description, all photos, price, capacity, layout, location, amenities, property type, and other on-page details.
Image download & organisation. Every photo is downloaded and stored in a per-listing folder, with filenames/paths tied back to the listing record for clean WordPress mapping.
Structured, WordPress-ready export. Records written to a clean CSV/Excel with standardised headers and image references, formatted for direct WordPress import.
Octoparse task delivery. A configured Octoparse task file is delivered so the client can re-run the extraction themselves whenever needed.
