In the US control states the state sells the spirits and publishes the price. North Carolina issues a quarterly price list on the first day of February, May, August and November, with a monthly supplemental list of distiller price reductions, and its files itemise components such as freight, bailment fee, surcharge, state tax, local board markup and rehabilitation tax. Virginia ABC publishes a quarterly price list as PDF and Excel plus monthly specials. These are price files, not stock files. Jurisdiction, channel and the price surface sit on every record, the SKU key carries vintage or age statement, format and ABV, and no age gate is passed by misrepresenting who is asking.
