Festive sale price tracking India 2026: pre-sale baseline design for Amazon and Flipkart, sale dates, bank offers and metrics.
Festive sale price tracking India starts before the sale opens. This report sets out how Actowiz Solutions records a pre-sale price baseline on Amazon.in and Flipkart for 2026, which dates and bank offers have been reported, and which metrics we will publish once the Great Indian Festival and Big Billion Days data is complete.
This is an event preview, not a results report. Every tracked value in the tables below is left as a placeholder until the delivery team signs off the dataset.
We have removed unsourced figures from earlier versions of this page. Where we quote a number, it carries a date and a link to the source we checked.
The report covers public product listing data on Amazon.in and Flipkart during the 2026 festive sale window. It focuses on how prices move from the weeks before the sale to the first days of the events.

Neither platform's full schedule was confirmed in the news reports we checked, so we treat the dates below as reported dates. The start dates are consistent across sources; the bank partner for Amazon is not.
| Event | Reported start (all customers) | Reported early access | Reported bank offer | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 | 8 October 2026 | Not confirmed; 91mobiles said Prime members were likely to get 24 hours' early access | 10% instant discount on SBI credit and debit cards and EMI; Prime members up to 10% extra on select purchases | 91mobiles, 21 September 2026 |
| Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 (conflicting report) | 8 October 2026 | Not stated | 10% instant discount on eligible HDFC Bank credit cards, with SBI cards listed as a separate offer | The Tech Outlook, 21 September 2026 |
| Flipkart Big Billion Days 2026 | 9 October 2026 | 8 October 2026 for Flipkart VIP, Flipkart Black and Flipkart credit card members | Up to 10% discount on Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards | 91mobiles, 16 September 2026 |
The Amazon bank partner matters for this study. If the SBI and HDFC reports are both partly right, the effective price for a card holder will differ by bank, so we record each bank offer as a separate field rather than one "best price".
As of 16 September 2026, 91mobiles reported that Flipkart had not announced an end date for Big Billion Days. Our capture plan therefore runs on a rolling basis until both events close.
A festive discount is only meaningful against a fair reference price, which is why festive sale price tracking India teams start with a baseline. If the reference is the strike-through price shown on the sale day, the discount can look larger than the saving a shopper actually gets.
A baseline built from prices captured in the weeks before the sale gives a cleaner comparison. It answers three questions that banner claims cannot:
Brands use the baseline to check whether their own festive pricing stayed within agreed bands. Sellers use it to plan repricing. Analysts use it to separate real price cuts from presentation.
The study design below is the same template we use for any festive window. Values marked as placeholders will be filled from the Actowiz dataset once quality checks are complete.
We select products that are listed on both Amazon.in and Flipkart and match them by brand, model, variant (colour, storage, size) and, where shown, model number. Unmatched or ambiguous listings are excluded rather than guessed.
Panel size: - matched products across - categories.
Prices are captured on a fixed schedule in the weeks before the reported start dates. The baseline price for each product is the median of its captured in-stock prices in that window, which reduces the effect of one-day spikes.
Baseline window: - to -. Capture frequency: - times per day.
Festive prices are built in layers. We keep each one as its own field so that the final comparison can be rebuilt for any shopper type – with or without a partner bank card or membership.
Once each event opens, capture frequency increases so that short deal windows and stock changes are visible. Early-access hours are tagged separately because not every shopper sees those prices.
Effective discount compares the best publicly shown price for a given shopper type with the pre-sale baseline, not with the strike-through price. Platform gap compares the same product on both platforms at the same capture time.
The table below lists the fields our festive sale price tracking India programme captures for each product at each capture time. Field names follow the format we deliver in CSV, JSON or database feeds.
| Field | Description | Example format |
|---|---|---|
| capture_timestamp_ist | Date and time of capture in Indian Standard Time | 2026-10-08 06:00 |
| platform | Amazon.in or Flipkart | text |
| product_match_id | Actowiz ID linking the same product across platforms | text |
| brand / model / variant | Product identity as shown on the listing | text |
| category_path | Category breadcrumb on the platform | text |
| mrp_or_reference_price | Strike-through price shown on the page | INR |
| listed_price | Main displayed selling price | INR |
| bank_offer_text / bank_offer_value | Card offer as shown, plus parsed value where the terms are clear | text / INR or % |
| membership_price_flag | Whether a Prime, Plus, VIP or Black price is shown | true / false |
| coupon_value | Coupon shown on the product page | INR or % |
| stock_status | In stock, out of stock or limited stock message | text |
| seller_name | Business seller shown on the listing | text |
| deal_tag | Deal badge text, if any | text |
| sale_phase | Baseline, early access or main sale | text |
Seller names are business names shown publicly on listings. We do not collect personal contact details.
The category table is the core output of the baseline stage. It will be filled from the Actowiz dataset; we have not estimated any of these values.
| Category | Products in panel | Median pre-sale price gap, Amazon vs Flipkart | Share of products with a price rise in the last 7 pre-sale days | Share of listings showing a bank offer before the sale |

One reported price change is worth noting as context. 91mobiles reported on 16 September 2026 that Apple had raised the iPhone 17 price to Rs 99,900 from Rs 82,900 (91mobiles, 16 September 2026). Changes like this shift the baseline itself, which is why we record list-price changes as events rather than smoothing them away.
The definitions are fixed now so that the post-sale numbers cannot be reshaped to fit a story. Each metric will be published by platform and by category.
| Metric | Definition | Why it matters | 2026 value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Headline discount | Sale price vs strike-through price, as displayed | Shows what shoppers are told | - |
| Effective discount (no card) | Best public price without card or membership vs pre-sale median | Shows the saving for any shopper | - |
| Effective discount (partner card) | Price after the parsed bank offer vs pre-sale median | Shows the saving for partner-bank card holders | - |
| Reference price change | Share of products whose strike-through or listed price rose in the 7 days before the sale | Flags discount inflation | - |
| Cheapest platform share | Share of matched products cheaper on each platform at the same capture time | Answers "who won on price" | - |
| Card offer swing | Share of products where the cheapest platform changes once a partner card is applied | Shows how much bank offers decide the outcome | - |
| Price changes per day | Median count of price changes per product per day in the sale window | Shows repricing intensity | - |
| Stock-out rate | Share of deal-tagged listings shown as out of stock at least once | Separates real scarcity from messaging | - |
We do not estimate market size from listing data. For context, the most recent third-party figure we checked is a forecast for 2025, not a 2026 result.
Forecast: Redseer expected more than ₹1.15 lakh crore of e-commerce GMV in the 2025 festive season, growing 20–25% year on year (Redseer, 26 August 2025).
Forecast: In the same report, Redseer projected quick commerce growth of 150% year on year and value commerce growth of 40–50% for the 2025 festive season.
These are pre-season projections. We have not used them to estimate 2026 figures, and the post-sale update will not report GMV.
Bank offers are the main reason two shoppers can see a different "cheapest" platform for the same product. In 2026 the reported partner banks differ by platform: SBI (or HDFC, per a conflicting report) on Amazon, and Axis Bank and ICICI Bank on Flipkart, according to the reports dated 16 and 21 September 2026 linked above.
That creates at least three comparison views:
Offer terms often include minimum order values and maximum discount caps. Where the terms on the page are unclear, we keep the raw offer text and leave the parsed value blank rather than assume a figure.
The examples below are anonymised. They describe typical uses of festive price data, not named engagements.
A brand selling on both platforms needs to know whether marketplace sellers priced its hero models within agreed festive bands. The baseline shows the normal price; the sale data shows how far each listing moved and on which day.

A multi-category seller uses the pre-sale median and competitor movements to decide when to cut prices and by how much, instead of reacting to each deal badge.
Result: No Data
An analyst covering Indian consumer internet needs a clean read on how deep festive discounting actually went, and compares effective discount with headline discount by category.

Both routes work for festive sale price tracking India. The right one depends on how often you need the data and whether your team can maintain scrapers through the busiest weeks of the year.
| Factor | Build in-house | Buy a managed dataset |
|---|---|---|
| Set-up time | Scrapers, product matching and parsing must be ready before the baseline window opens | Scope agreed, then delivery on a schedule |
| Sale-week maintenance | Page layouts and deal widgets can change during the event; your team fixes breaks | Provider maintains collectors and runs quality checks |
| Product matching | Needs rules and manual review for variants | Matched IDs delivered with the feed |
| Bank offer parsing | Free-text offers need ongoing rule updates | Raw text plus parsed value where terms are clear |
| Control | Full control over code and schedule | Control through scope, fields and frequency |
| Best fit | Teams with data engineers and a year-round need | Teams that need festive data quickly or for a fixed window |

In India, festive sale price tracking is the repeated capture of public product prices, offers and stock status on marketplaces before and during sale events, so that real discounts can be measured against a fair baseline.
News reports dated September 2026 said the Amazon Great Indian Festival would start on 8 October and Flipkart Big Billion Days on 9 October, with Flipkart early access on 8 October.
The strike-through price can change before a sale. A median of prices captured in the weeks before the sale gives a steadier reference.
Not yet. This version sets out the study design and reported sale details. Tracked values will be added after the sale and after quality checks.
