Gopuff Data Scraping

Owned inventory, not a marketplace. That changes what the price means and where the competition actually happens.

Gopuff data scraping collects pricing, availability, delivery fees and promise windows from Gopuff's micro-fulfilment network. Unlike a marketplace, Gopuff owns the inventory, so there is one price per facility rather than competing offers — and the commercial variation moves into the fee stack, the minimum order value and the membership layer instead.

Buyers ask for Gopuff beside DoorDash, DashMart and Instacart when they want to understand how delivery economics vary by time and distance. Gopuff is the one in that set that owns what it sells.

Free pilot on your own Gopuff list, returned in 24 hours. No card, no trial clock — and you keep the sample data either way.

Gopuff at a glance

How we handle Gopuff specifically

Platform-specific handling, not a generic retail template pointed at a different domain.

Model
Owned inventory, micro-fulfilment — not a marketplace
Consequence
One price per facility. No competing offers to resolve
Where variation lives
Fee stack, minimum order, membership — not the item price
Granularity
Address or zone. Facility catchments do not follow postal boundaries
Membership
Fam-style membership changes fees. Only public pricing collected
Age-restricted items
Present in catalogue, gated at checkout. Flagged, not obtained
Promise
Minutes-level, and it gates whether an item is orderable
Refresh
Several times daily; hourly where fee variation is the question
Platform specifics

What is specific to Gopuff

These are the reasons a Gopuff dataset needs its own handling rather than a shared retail schema.

Owned inventory means the price stops being the story

On a marketplace, several sellers compete on one product and the interesting question is which offer wins. Gopuff holds its own stock, so there is exactly one price for an item at a facility.

That does not make the data less useful — it moves the commercial variation somewhere else.

  • The fee stack does the work. Delivery fee, service fee, small-order fee and any peak surcharge move independently of item price and independently of each other.
  • Minimum order value shapes basket behaviour more than a per-item price does at this basket size.
  • Membership waives fees rather than discounting items, which is a structurally different mechanic from a member shelf price.

We deliver each fee as its own field and never fold any of them into the item price. A single "effective price" here would hide the mechanic that actually varies, which is the opposite of useful.

Facility catchments do not follow postal boundaries

Gopuff serves from micro-fulfilment sites with delivery radii. Those radii cut across ZIP codes, so a ZIP-level view is wrong in both directions — part of a ZIP is served and part is not, and two addresses in one ZIP can be served by different facilities with different assortments.

How we handle it

  • Address-level observation, using a designed address panel rather than ZIP centroids.
  • Serviceability recorded as its own state, distinct from an item being out of stock.
  • Facility identity captured where exposed, so assortment differences are attributable rather than mysterious.

The address panel is the main design decision and the main cost driver. We agree it with you against the catchment types that matter — dense urban, campus, suburban edge — rather than sweeping a metro exhaustively for four times the price and the same answer.

Age-restricted lines are visible and not obtainable

Alcohol and tobacco are a meaningful part of the Gopuff proposition, and they appear in the catalogue with prices. They are also gated at checkout by age verification and by local licensing, and availability varies by jurisdiction in ways the catalogue does not always show.

We capture what is listed, flag age_restricted, and record serviceability for those lines separately because a facility can serve groceries to an address and not alcohol.

What we do not do is attempt any step that involves age verification. That is an action on a third-party system and it sits outside collection, the same way form submission does everywhere else on this site.

Scope

What we collect on Gopuff, and what we do not

The right column matters more than the left. Anyone can list fields; the limits are what tell you whether the dataset will hold up.

✅ What we collect

  • Item price at address level, with the address panel design stated
  • Delivery fee, service fee, small-order fee and peak surcharge as separate fields
  • Minimum order value and any free-delivery threshold
  • Serviceability as a distinct state from out of stock
  • Delivery promise in minutes as displayed
  • Facility identity where the platform exposes it
  • Age-restricted flag, with serviceability recorded separately for those lines
  • Pack architecture parsed, with unit price on a stated basis
  • Publicly displayed membership pricing, where visible without signing in

❌ What we do not, and why

  • Any fee or price that requires a signed-in membership session
  • Age verification, or any checkout step
  • Sales, order volumes or facility throughput
  • Customer, rider or order data
  • A single blended effective price across item and fees

Core Gopuff fields

The full dictionary is agreed during scoping. These are the fields specific to this platform.

Field What it is on this platform
sku / product_key Your identifier and our matched identity
address_id / zone / city The address panel point, its zone and city
facility_id Where the platform exposes it, so assortment differences are attributable
price Item price at this facility
delivery_fee / service_fee / small_order_fee / peak_fee Each fee as its own field
min_order_value / free_delivery_threshold Basket thresholds
serviceable / in_stock Two distinct states
promise_minutes Delivery promise as displayed
age_restricted / age_restricted_serviceable Flag, plus separate serviceability for those lines
pack_size / pack_unit / price_per_unit Parsed pack and unit price
observed_at / daypart Timestamp and derived daypart, because fees move across the day
Use cases

What teams do with Gopuff data

Delivery economics by daypart and distance

Fee components tracked separately across an address panel and across dayparts, which is exactly the comparison buyers ask for across Gopuff, DoorDash, DashMart and Instacart.

Assortment by catchment type

Facility-level assortment across dense urban, campus and suburban-edge addresses, showing what each catchment is actually offered rather than a metro-wide range that no address sees.

Fee competitiveness against marketplace players

Owned-inventory pricing plus a separated fee stack against marketplace platforms where the same basket carries markup instead, which is a structurally different cost to the shopper.

Serviceability mapping

Where the network reaches and where it does not, recorded as its own state, which is the first-order question when facility radii cut across postal boundaries.

How we engage

Three ways to engage us

Same collection pipeline and QA underneath. The difference is who holds the schedule and how the data reaches you.

Managed service (most common)

We own the collection, the QA and the delivery. You receive clean data on a schedule and never touch a scraper.

  • Dedicated engineer assigned to your account
  • Site changes fixed by us, not reported to you
  • Scheduled delivery to your warehouse or S3
  • Named contact on Slack or email

Best fit: Teams who need the data, not the infrastructure.

API access

The same collection pipeline exposed as an authenticated REST endpoint your systems query directly.

  • On-demand and scheduled endpoints
  • Rate limits agreed to your load profile
  • Sandbox keys for integration testing
  • Versioned schema with deprecation notice

Best fit: Product and engineering teams building on live data.

One-time or project extraction

A defined pull for a specific question — market sizing, diligence, a pitch, a one-off audit.

  • Fixed scope agreed in writing upfront
  • Single delivery with full QA report
  • Methodology documented for your records
  • Converts to managed if you want continuity

Best fit: Research, strategy and diligence work with a deadline.

Pricing

Every engagement is quoted individually, because the honest answer depends on your scope: how many sources, how many records, how often, and how the data reaches you. We scope it with you, run a free pilot on your own sources, and then quote a fixed monthly figure — no per-request metering and no overage billing when volumes move. Request a quote and you will have a number after one call.

Gopuff is usually collected alongside its competitors

Almost nobody buys a single platform in isolation. Gopuff data becomes useful when it sits next to the competitor set on one schema, refreshed on one schedule, so a price index or availability comparison is genuinely like-for-like.

That is what quick commerce data covers, and a Gopuff-only engagement can be expanded into it without rebuilding. If you already know you need several platforms, start there instead — it is the same pipeline and usually the better scoping conversation.

FAQ

Gopuff data scraping: frequently asked questions

Platform-specific questions, including what cannot be collected here.

Because facility delivery radii cut across ZIP boundaries. Part of a ZIP is served and part is not, and two addresses in one ZIP can be served by different facilities with different assortments.

A ZIP-level view is wrong in both directions. We use a designed address panel instead, agreed against the catchment types that matter to you.

The fee stack, and it does more work here than the item price does. Delivery, service, small-order and peak fees all move independently, and the minimum order value shapes basket behaviour more than a few cents on an item.

Membership also waives fees rather than discounting items, which is a different mechanic from a member shelf price and needs recording as such.

Only where it is displayed publicly. We do not create accounts and we do not use client credentials.

Where a fee waiver or price requires a signed-in session, the field is null with a reason and we report the share affected, the same as on every member-gated retailer.

They are in the catalogue and we capture them with an age_restricted flag. Serviceability for those lines is recorded separately, because a facility can serve groceries to an address and not alcohol.

We do not attempt age verification or any checkout step. That is an action on a third-party system, not collection.

Structurally rather than directly. Gopuff owns its stock, so the shopper's cost is item price plus a fee stack. Marketplace platforms frequently carry a markup on the item instead and present a lower fee.

Comparing headline item prices across the two misses that entirely. We deliver the components separately so a like-for-like basket comparison is possible.

We quote individually. The main driver is addresses times SKUs times observations per day, and the address panel design is the biggest lever — a well-chosen panel usually moves the same way as an exhaustive sweep at a fraction of the cost.

One scoping call, a free pilot within 24 hours, then a fixed monthly quote. Request a quote.
