"job_description":"Basic Function: The staff accountant position creates financial
transactions and generates reports from that information. The creation of
financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or
accounting software from source documents such as invoices to customers, cash
receipts, and supplier invoices. The staff accountant also reconciles accounts
to ensure their accuracy.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
· Perform daily and monthly accounting activities such as creating and posting
journal entries, work paper support, general ledger close and financial report
preparation.
· Accurately perform regular reconciliations of cash, third party payment
platforms, check and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.
· Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner; resolve accounts payable issues or
queries.
· Issue invoices and monthly statements to customers, ensure that receivables
are collected promptly, and resolve receivables issues or queries.
· Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accrual, prepaid, and interCompany
accounts to ensure their accuracy.
· Administer T&E policy and corporate credit card program by ensuring all
transactions are recorded timely and accurately while complying with Company
policies.
· Prepare sales tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
· Maintain permit and business license renewal calendar, and prepare new and
renewal applications in a timely manner.
Other Responsibilities
· Coordinate with management and staff to prepare budgets.
· Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.
· Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and federal
and state regulations.
· Provide information to the Controller who creates the Company’s financial
statements
· Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
· Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
Desired Qualifications:
· Demonstrated knowledge of cost alLocation and multi-departmental accounting
systems; preference will be given to working knowledge of Restaurant365.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent experience.
· At least 1-3 years’ experience in restaurant or hospitality accounting is
preferable.
· Intermediate Excel skills highly desirable (lookups, pivot tables).
