Public provider register data covers official registers of healthcare providers — for example the US NPPES NPI registry, national pharmacy registers and professional registers such as the UK's medical register. Many list individual professionals, which makes their records personal data even though they are public. So organisations are collected by default; individual records only for a documented purpose, limited to professional fields, and removed when the register removes them.

Public is not the same as unrestricted. A register's purpose, and data-protection law, still apply to what is done with it.

When individual records are in scope

Only where the client documents a legitimate purpose, such as keeping its own provider directory accurate, and has a lawful basis where data-protection law applies. Then only professional fields as the register publishes them: name, registration number, status, specialty or taxonomy, and practice address.

Removals

When a register removes or changes an entry, the deliverable follows at the next refresh. Stale copies are not kept in the product.

What we do not do

Collect home addresses or personal contact details, enrich or link individual records with other sources, build profiles of individuals, republish registers as a public directory, or collect any patient data.
