Quick commerce digital shelf analytics is the practice of measuring how your products appear to shoppers on 10-minute delivery apps, pincode by pincode. In India that means tracking availability by dark store, selling price and discount depth, search rank and share of search, sponsored versus organic slots, listing content, and ratings on Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, BigBasket, Flipkart Minutes and Amazon Now.
The channel is too big to manage on gut feel. Blume Ventures' Indus Valley 2025 report put India's quick commerce market at $7.1 billion in FY2025, up from about $300 million in 2022. Blinkit alone reported net order value of ₹17,132 crore in Q1 FY27 from 2,443 dark stores.
This guide covers what to track, how each platform differs, how to collect and clean the data, and where a ready dashboard or a custom data feed fits. If you want the general theory first, start with our digital shelf analytics complete guide.
On quick commerce, the shelf is local, small and fast-moving. Each shopper sees the inventory of one dark store, so a product can be live in one pincode and missing two kilometres away.
Three things make it different from classic marketplaces such as Amazon or Flipkart:
Competition is also widening. TechCrunch reported in April 2026 that Flipkart Minutes had over 800 dark stores and Amazon had 330–370 operational (UBS estimates), with more than 6,000 dark stores across the sector. More storefronts mean more shelves to watch.
Brands in India usually track five to seven apps, mixing pure-play quick commerce with e-commerce players that added fast delivery. The table below summarises what changes from one shelf to the next.
| Platform | Model | What varies by location | Digital shelf focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blinkit | Dark-store quick commerce (Eternal) | Assortment, stock, price, delivery slot | Pincode availability, share of search, ad slots |
| Zepto | Dark-store quick commerce | Assortment, stock, offers | Availability, discount depth, search rank |
| Swiggy Instamart | Dark-store quick commerce (Swiggy) | Assortment, stock, offers | Availability, category rail placement |
| BigBasket / BB Now | Grocery e-commerce + fast delivery (Tata) | Store and slot, assortment | Price vs MRP, pack-size coverage |
| Flipkart Minutes | Fast delivery inside the Flipkart app | Dark-store coverage, stock | Rank vs main Flipkart listing, offers |
| Amazon Now and Amazon.in | Fast delivery inside Amazon + marketplace | Pincode serviceability, seller, price | Buy box, sponsored share, ratings |
Treat each app as its own shelf. A SKU that ranks third on Blinkit for "protein bar" can sit on page two of Zepto for the same term, and the reasons differ.
There are six KPIs most brand teams track. Each one should be captured at pincode or dark-store level, with a timestamp.
The weighting of KPIs shifts by category. Impulse snacks live and die by search rank, while staples are driven by price and pack-size availability.
| Category | Priority keywords to track | KPI weight | Typical red flag |
|---|---|---|---|
| Staples (atta, rice, oil) | "atta 5kg", "sunflower oil" | Price, availability by pack size | Competitor 1L pack discounted below yours |
| Snacks and beverages | "chips", "cold drink", "energy drink" | Share of search, sponsored share | Brand absent from first screen in peak hours |
| Dairy and breakfast | "paneer", "curd", "oats" | Availability by dark store | Out of stock in high-order pincodes |
| Personal care | "face wash", "shampoo" | Content, ratings, discount depth | Thin titles, one image, older pack shot |
| Baby and pet | "diapers", "dog food" | Assortment, price per unit | Key size not listed in a city |
Search volume for each keyword is a separate input. Platforms do not publish it, so teams combine their own search-term reports with web search data and treat any volume figure as an estimate.
Good analytics starts with a clean collection design. The steps below work whether you build in-house or buy a feed.
For a worked example of pincode-level stock tracking, see our Zepto and Instamart pincode availability case study. For ranking collection on marketplaces, see how we scrape product rankings on Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit and BigBasket.
A typical record holds one SKU, on one app, at one location, at one point in time. These are the fields most teams ask for.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| platform | App name, e.g. Blinkit or Zepto |
| pincode / store_area | Location used for the check |
| keyword | Search term that returned the result |
| rank_position | Position in the result list |
| is_sponsored | Whether the slot carried an ad label |
| product_title | Title as shown to the shopper |
| pack_size | Net quantity or variant |
| selling_price / mrp | Price paid and printed MRP |
| discount_pct / offer_text | Discount depth and offer wording |
| stock_status | In stock, out of stock or not listed |
| image_count | Number of images on the product page |
| rating / rating_count | Star rating and number of ratings, if shown |
| captured_at | Date and time of capture |
Different teams use the same feed for different decisions. Here are the common ones from Actowiz projects with Indian brands.
There are two ways to consume quick commerce digital shelf analytics: a ready dashboard or a raw feed into your own tools. Many brands use both.
Actowiz Metrics is the Actowiz quick commerce analytics platform. It gives brand teams dashboards and alerts built on quick commerce shelf data, so they can watch availability, price and visibility without building a pipeline. You can see a public example in our quick commerce dashboard.
Custom data feeds suit teams that already have a BI stack. Actowiz delivers structured files or API output on your chosen platforms, pincodes, keywords and cadence, which your analysts join with sell-out or ad data. For a broader view of how the data is used in reporting, see our quick commerce food data report 2026.
| Option | Best for | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard (Actowiz Metrics) | Brand, KAM and sales teams | Ready views and alerts on shelf KPIs |
| Custom data feed | Analytics and data teams | Raw records in CSV, Excel, JSON or via API |
| Both | Multi-brand or multi-category companies | Dashboards for teams, raw data for modelling |
Collect only publicly visible product data, such as listings, prices, stock state and aggregate ratings. Do not collect shopper personal data, log in to private accounts, or bypass access controls.
Respect each platform's terms and keep request rates reasonable. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies to personal data, which is another reason to keep shelf feeds free of it; EY gives a useful overview of the DPDP Act and Rules. Ask your legal team to review any new data programme.
Building quick commerce digital shelf analytics in-house gives control but needs ongoing work. Apps change layouts, location handling is tricky, and matching SKUs across apps takes manual review.
Ask any provider these questions:
It is the measurement of how products appear on 10-minute delivery apps at pincode level: availability, price and discount, search rank, sponsored placement, content and ratings. It shows what shoppers actually see in each delivery area.
Share of search is the portion of top results for a keyword that belong to your brand. On quick commerce, measure it per app, per pincode and per time slot, and split it into sponsored and organic.
Daily is the minimum for price and stock. Fast-moving categories and promotion periods often need several captures a day to catch short stock-outs and flash discounts.
Quick commerce apps do not publish keyword search volume. Teams use their own platform ad reports and web search data as proxies, and should label these figures as estimates.
Collecting publicly visible product information is common practice, but you should respect site terms, avoid personal data, and not bypass logins. Get a legal review for your use case.
Use a dashboard if business teams need ready views and alerts. Use a data feed if analysts want to combine shelf data with sales or ad data. Many brands start with one and add the other.
