Solvency Disclosure Data

Every UK and EU insurer publishes its solvency position once a year. The numbers are comparable; the regimes and formats behind them are changing.

Solvency disclosure data covers insurers' annual Solvency and Financial Condition Reports (SFCRs) and the public reporting templates attached to them: balance sheet, own funds, solvency capital requirement and solvency ratio. Figures are recorded as published, with reporting regime, entity and year. Solvency UK changed reporting from end-2024, and the EU's revised SFCR format applies from 30 January 2027.

SFCRs are the most standardised financial disclosure in insurance. They still need care: solo and group, UK and EU, old format and new.

Platform specifics

Comparable figures, changing formats

These are the reasons a Solvency public disclosures dataset needs its own handling rather than a shared retail schema.

Figures as published

Public templates give a consistent structure for the key numbers. The narrative around them varies by insurer.

  • template_code, row and column recorded for every figure taken from a public template.
  • entity_type — solo or group — and reporting_currency as reported.
  • solvency_ratio as published; a recomputed ratio, if wanted, is a labelled derived field.
  • Narrative sections are archived and indexed by section, not summarised.

Regimes and formats, and what we do not do

Regime and format

The PRA's Solvency UK reforms changed reporting from end-2024. In the EU, the revised directive splits the SFCR into a policyholder section and a market section, lengthens deadlines and requires an audited balance sheet, from 30 January 2027. regime and format_version are recorded on every figure so series stay comparable.

Joins

Entities join to register records, as on our register page.

What we do not do

Recompute published figures in place, convert currencies silently, rate an insurer's financial strength, or mix solo and group figures.

Scope

What we collect on Solvency public disclosures, and what we do not

The right column matters more than the left. Anyone can list fields; the limits are what tell you whether the dataset will hold up.

✅ What we collect

  • Figures as published, with template, row and column
  • entity_type: solo or group
  • Reporting currency as reported
  • regime and format_version on every figure
  • Recomputed ratios only as labelled derived fields
  • Narrative archived and indexed by section
  • Entities joined to register records
  • Restatements kept as versions
  • Annual refresh as reports publish

❌ What we do not, and why

  • Published figures recomputed in place
  • Currencies converted silently
  • Financial strength ratings of our own
  • Solo and group figures mixed
  • Narrative summarised in place of text

How we engage

Three ways to engage us

Same collection pipeline and QA underneath. The difference is who holds the schedule and how the data reaches you.

Managed service (most common)

We own the collection, the QA and the delivery. You receive clean data on a schedule and never touch a scraper.

  • Dedicated engineer assigned to your account
  • Site changes fixed by us, not reported to you
  • Scheduled delivery to your warehouse or S3
  • Named contact on Slack or email

Best fit: Teams who need the data, not the infrastructure.

API access

The same collection pipeline exposed as an authenticated REST endpoint your systems query directly.

  • On-demand and scheduled endpoints
  • Rate limits agreed to your load profile
  • Sandbox keys for integration testing
  • Versioned schema with deprecation notice

Best fit: Product and engineering teams building on live data.

One-time or project extraction

A defined pull for a specific question — market sizing, diligence, a pitch, a one-off audit.

  • Fixed scope agreed in writing upfront
  • Single delivery with full QA report
  • Methodology documented for your records
  • Converts to managed if you want continuity

Best fit: Research, strategy and diligence work with a deadline.

Pricing

Every engagement is quoted individually, because the honest answer depends on your scope: how many sources, how many records, how often, and how the data reaches you. We scope it with you, run a free pilot on your own sources, and then quote a fixed monthly figure — no per-request metering and no overage billing when volumes move. Request a quote and you will have a number after one call.

Solvency public disclosures is usually collected alongside its competitors

Almost nobody buys a single platform in isolation. Solvency public disclosures data becomes useful when it sits next to the competitor set on one schema, refreshed on one schedule, so a price index or availability comparison is genuinely like-for-like.

That is what insurance data covers, and a Solvency public disclosures-only engagement can be expanded into it without rebuilding. If you already know you need several platforms, start there instead — it is the same pipeline and usually the better scoping conversation.

FAQ

Solvency public disclosures data scraping: frequently asked questions

Platform-specific questions, including what cannot be collected here.

An annual public report on an insurer's solvency and financial condition, required under Solvency II and Solvency UK.

In the EU, from 30 January 2027 the SFCR splits into policyholder and market sections, deadlines lengthen and the balance sheet must be audited.

Only as a labelled derived field. The published figure is kept.

No. We record what they publish.

Both, as reported, never mixed.

It depends on insurers and years.
