How Actowiz Solutions is running a trivago hotel price monitoring proof of concept in Chile and Colombia for a Mexico-based online travel company.
A client needing live hotel prices from Trivago in two LATAM markets.
Actowiz Solutions is running a trivago hotel price monitoring proof of concept for a Mexico-based online travel company. Three times a week we search trivago.cl and trivago.com.co for set destinations and stay dates, then capture each hotel's live prices by provider, its rank and deal badges in local currency, building a dated price record from kickoff onward.
The client wanted to understand hotel pricing and ranking across trivago.cl and trivago.com.co, including which booking providers offered the lowest rates. They needed regularly captured live prices to compare their own offers with the rates travellers see on metasearch results pages.
The inquiry arrived on 8 May 2026, and the proof of concept (POC) started on 28 September 2026. The scope covers hotels in Chile and Colombia, with the final destination list, hotel count, and stay-date and length-of-stay grid to be confirmed during pilot validation.
Metasearch prices are not a single number per hotel. Each result depends on the search inputs, lists several providers and can change during the day, so the data must be collected with fixed parameters to stay comparable across runs.
We set up trivago hotel price monitoring as a fixed search grid that runs three times a week on both sites.
Each row ties one provider offer to the exact search that produced it, so prices can be compared by date, hotel and provider. The table lists the core fields delivered in each POC run, all captured exactly as publicly displayed.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| search_date / scrape_timestamp | Date of the search and exact capture time |
| check_in / check_out / nights / guests | Stay parameters used for the search |
| destination | City or area searched |
| hotel_id / hotel_name | Trivago hotel ID and display name |
| star_rating / guest_rating | Hotel class and displayed guest score |
| provider_name | OTA or hotel site offering the price |
| price_shown / currency | Displayed price and currency code (CLP or COP) |
| lowest_price_flag | Whether this offer is the lowest shown for the hotel |
| rank_position | Hotel position in the result list |
| deal_badges | Deal or discount labels shown on the listing |
The trivago hotel price monitoring POC is still in progress, so results so far are early and qualitative. Final figures will be added after the client has reviewed the first weeks of thrice-weekly runs and agreed the next phase.
