Worten Data Scraping

Portugal, the Canary Islands, and a Spanish web store that closed this summer. Three different answers to "where does Worten sell".

Worten data scraping covers product, price and offer data from the Sonae group's electronics retailer. Its footprint has changed: Worten sold its Spanish stores in 2021, and its web store for mainland Spain closed on 31 July 2026. It still trades in Portugal and the Canary Islands, where prices carry IGIC, not VAT. So each market is its own series, and the Spanish records are kept as history.

A market exit is an event with a date. Treating it as a broken feed loses the history and the reason.

Free pilot on your own Worten list, returned in 24 hours. No card, no trial clock — and you keep the sample data either way.

Platform specifics

Three markets, and one that ended

These are the reasons a Worten dataset needs its own handling rather than a shared retail schema.

The exit is data

Worten sold its Spanish stores in 2021 and kept selling online. That web store closed on 31 July 2026.

  • market_exit_at recorded for mainland Spain, and the records before it kept.
  • No further collection from the closed store, and no gap-filling after the date.
  • The Canary Islands are a separate market, not "Spain".
  • Portugal continues as the main market.

IGIC in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands apply their own indirect tax, IGIC, instead of VAT. So a Canary price and a Portuguese price are not comparable without knowing the tax basis. tax_regime is recorded per market, and nothing is recomputed ex-tax unless you ask, as a labelled derived field.

Marketplace, and what we do not do

Seller on every offer

worten.pt runs a marketplace. seller_name and seller_type on every offer; Worten's own offers form their own series.

Nearby

In Spain, the specialists that remain include MediaMarkt, and El Corte Inglés sells electronics too — see our El Corte Inglés page.

What we do not do

Treat the Spanish closure as a broken feed, merge the Canary Islands into Spain, or compare prices across tax regimes without stating it.

Scope

What we collect on Worten, and what we do not

The right column matters more than the left. Anyone can list fields; the limits are what tell you whether the dataset will hold up.

✅ What we collect

  • market on every row: PT, Canary Islands, mainland Spain (history)
  • market_exit_at for mainland Spain, 31 July 2026
  • Pre-exit Spanish records kept as history
  • tax_regime per market: VAT or IGIC
  • Ex-tax figures only as labelled derived fields
  • seller_name and seller_type on every offer
  • Worten's own offers as their own series
  • Model numbers exactly as published
  • Portuguese names kept as published

❌ What we do not, and why

  • The Spanish closure treated as a broken feed
  • Collection or gap-filling after the exit date
  • The Canary Islands merged into Spain
  • Prices compared across tax regimes without saying so
  • Account or customer data

How we engage

Three ways to engage us

Same collection pipeline and QA underneath. The difference is who holds the schedule and how the data reaches you.

Managed service (most common)

We own the collection, the QA and the delivery. You receive clean data on a schedule and never touch a scraper.

  • Dedicated engineer assigned to your account
  • Site changes fixed by us, not reported to you
  • Scheduled delivery to your warehouse or S3
  • Named contact on Slack or email

Best fit: Teams who need the data, not the infrastructure.

API access

The same collection pipeline exposed as an authenticated REST endpoint your systems query directly.

  • On-demand and scheduled endpoints
  • Rate limits agreed to your load profile
  • Sandbox keys for integration testing
  • Versioned schema with deprecation notice

Best fit: Product and engineering teams building on live data.

One-time or project extraction

A defined pull for a specific question — market sizing, diligence, a pitch, a one-off audit.

  • Fixed scope agreed in writing upfront
  • Single delivery with full QA report
  • Methodology documented for your records
  • Converts to managed if you want continuity

Best fit: Research, strategy and diligence work with a deadline.

Pricing

Every engagement is quoted individually, because the honest answer depends on your scope: how many sources, how many records, how often, and how the data reaches you. We scope it with you, run a free pilot on your own sources, and then quote a fixed monthly figure — no per-request metering and no overage billing when volumes move. Request a quote and you will have a number after one call.

Worten is usually collected alongside its competitors

Almost nobody buys a single platform in isolation. Worten data becomes useful when it sits next to the competitor set on one schema, refreshed on one schedule, so a price index or availability comparison is genuinely like-for-like.

That is what consumer electronics data covers, and a Worten-only engagement can be expanded into it without rebuilding. If you already know you need several platforms, start there instead — it is the same pipeline and usually the better scoping conversation.

FAQ

Worten data scraping: frequently asked questions

Platform-specific questions, including what cannot be collected here.

Its mainland Spain web store closed on 31 July 2026. It still trades in the Canary Islands.

It is kept as history, with the exit date recorded. Nothing is collected or filled in after it.

They apply IGIC instead of VAT, so prices are on a different tax basis.

As a labelled derived field on request. The displayed price is always kept.

No. worten.pt has marketplace sellers. Every offer carries its seller.

It depends on markets and categories. Portugal as a pilot is the usual start.
