IPID Document Data

Every non-life insurance product in the UK and EU has one: a short summary with the same headings in the same order. That is a gift to comparison.

IPID document data covers the Insurance Product Information Document required for non-life products under the EU Insurance Distribution Directive and its UK retained version. Its format is fixed by regulation — set headings and icons, normally no more than two pages — so every IPID is parsed by heading, into the same structure, with the text kept. No quote is ever requested with invented details.

The IPID is short and standardised on purpose. It is the fastest way to compare products honestly, as long as nobody forgets it is a summary.

Free pilot on your own Product information documents (IPID) list, returned in 24 hours. No card, no trial clock — and you keep the sample data either way.

Platform specifics

Same headings, every product

These are the reasons a Product information documents (IPID) dataset needs its own handling rather than a shared retail schema.

Parsing by heading

The IPID's content is organised under standard questions: what type of insurance this is, what is insured, what is not insured, restrictions on cover, where cover applies, obligations, when and how to pay, when cover starts and ends, and how to cancel.

  • Each heading becomes a section, with its bullet items kept as a list.
  • Items are kept verbatim; structured values such as limits and excesses are extracted beside them with the item they came from.
  • ipid_version and document date on every record, with the PDF archived.
  • Headings missing or out of order are flagged, not repaired.

A summary, and what we do not do

A summary, not the contract

The IPID summarises; the policy wording governs. Where both are collected, differences are flagged and both shown, as on our policy wording page.

Investment-linked products

Insurance-based investment products use different documents: the PRIIPs KID in the EU, and in the UK, after PRIIPs was repealed on 6 April 2026, the CCI regime's product summary. These are recorded by their own type.

What we do not do

Treat an IPID as the full contract, repair malformed documents, request quotes with invented details, or collect policyholder data.

Scope

What we collect on Product information documents (IPID), and what we do not

The right column matters more than the left. Anyone can list fields; the limits are what tell you whether the dataset will hold up.

✅ What we collect

  • Every standard heading parsed into its own section
  • Bullet items kept verbatim
  • Structured limits and excesses beside their items
  • ipid_version and document date on every record
  • PDFs archived per version
  • Missing or out-of-order headings flagged
  • IPID-versus-wording differences flagged
  • Investment product documents typed separately
  • Refresh on each new version

❌ What we do not, and why

  • An IPID treated as the full contract
  • Malformed documents repaired
  • Items paraphrased in place of text
  • Quotes requested with invented details
  • Policyholder data

How we engage

Three ways to engage us

Same collection pipeline and QA underneath. The difference is who holds the schedule and how the data reaches you.

Managed service (most common)

We own the collection, the QA and the delivery. You receive clean data on a schedule and never touch a scraper.

  • Dedicated engineer assigned to your account
  • Site changes fixed by us, not reported to you
  • Scheduled delivery to your warehouse or S3
  • Named contact on Slack or email

Best fit: Teams who need the data, not the infrastructure.

API access

The same collection pipeline exposed as an authenticated REST endpoint your systems query directly.

  • On-demand and scheduled endpoints
  • Rate limits agreed to your load profile
  • Sandbox keys for integration testing
  • Versioned schema with deprecation notice

Best fit: Product and engineering teams building on live data.

One-time or project extraction

A defined pull for a specific question — market sizing, diligence, a pitch, a one-off audit.

  • Fixed scope agreed in writing upfront
  • Single delivery with full QA report
  • Methodology documented for your records
  • Converts to managed if you want continuity

Best fit: Research, strategy and diligence work with a deadline.

Pricing

Every engagement is quoted individually, because the honest answer depends on your scope: how many sources, how many records, how often, and how the data reaches you. We scope it with you, run a free pilot on your own sources, and then quote a fixed monthly figure — no per-request metering and no overage billing when volumes move. Request a quote and you will have a number after one call.

Product information documents (IPID) is usually collected alongside its competitors

Almost nobody buys a single platform in isolation. Product information documents (IPID) data becomes useful when it sits next to the competitor set on one schema, refreshed on one schedule, so a price index or availability comparison is genuinely like-for-like.

That is what insurance data covers, and a Product information documents (IPID)-only engagement can be expanded into it without rebuilding. If you already know you need several platforms, start there instead — it is the same pipeline and usually the better scoping conversation.

FAQ

Product information documents (IPID) data scraping: frequently asked questions

Platform-specific questions, including what cannot be collected here.

A standard product summary required for non-life insurance in the UK and EU, with headings and icons fixed by regulation.

Because every IPID uses the same headings, so the same structure fits every product.

No, it is a summary. The wording governs; we flag differences.

They use different documents: the KID in the EU, and in the UK the CCI product summary after PRIIPs was repealed in April 2026.

It is flagged, not repaired.

IPIDs are short and standard; cost depends mainly on how many products.
